Inuyasha TV Series The anime follows the storyline from the manga fairly closely, with the exception of "filler" episodes every once in a while, and playing some of the side-quests out of order, in my opinion, to keep Inuyasha and Kagome's 'romance' at arms length. The anime directors must want viewers to pine over them a bit harder than the manga readers. For Example, the plot from before the gang even met Sango about the Peach Man wasn't shown in anime form until much later. The following information was not updated after 2003! Over 120 episodes have aired in Japan as of the summer of 2003. The manga is currently past that point in the time line, so we can expect a bunch more episodes yet. For example, episode 109 is only chapter 249 in Volume 26 of the manga which is already in the 30's of volumes. There are only 13 volumes available in English as of the summer of 2003. Poor English speakers we are! The first handful episodes of anime have aired on CN in the US over the last year or so. Believe it or not, this is an amazingly fast turnaround for an anime to reach American audiences. CN has been yanking American viewers around a bit with their schedules, but it usually airs late at night. In Japan, it airs at 7PM on Mondays. The opening and closing theme songs are all J-Pop songs by artists on the Avex Mode record label, including songs by the "Madonna of Japan", Ayumi Hamasaki. The background music [or BGM] is composed by Kaori Wada and is more fitting a story about the distant past. Japanese Seiyuu [Voice Actors], their pictures and another role they are famous for.
