2nd TV Soundtrack

In this 2nd back-ground music [or BGM] CD, there are different variations on themes from the first volume, a handful of different melody lines, and more electronic instruments than both the 1st or movie soundtrack. Volume 2 also contains the TV size versions of "I Am" and "Fukai Mori" and first-press also includes a sticker of the album cover art. Two tracks feature BGM arrangements of "I Am" (cut 10) and "Dearest" (cut 23).
None of the previous opens or closes had this done for them on the 1st volume. Cut 31 seems to be a re-hash of tracks found on the first soundtrack.
The last track is a haunting piano solo "Ode To Inuyasha". In my opinion it would have been better had the pianist taken his foot off that pedal that dampens the reverberations of the strings. It's wide open the whole time and the high-pitched harmonics get me right between the eyes. The piece moves through the different motifs present in the BGM, but sounds a bit more like new-age music than I'd care to like.
This is a must have only for the die-hard IY fan, otherwise, skip it. Music scored by the acclaimed composer, Kaoru Wada. Go buy it at cdjapan.
