Bower is simply a new name for an existing
character created by Oda-sensei (the mayor of Fuchsia Village who is usually known
as Whoop Slap). His past makes him more of a badass and an over-protective guardian
than just a crotchety old man. He’s significantly more important in my stories
than he is in the series. Spoiler: Highlight to read! When
he was a younger man he sailed the Grand Line with Gol D. Roger. A 15 year old
Marina was entrusted to his care and together they
returned to East Blue and later teamed up with the Red Hair Brothers. Bower followed
Marina and Shep to Fuchsia where he spent the rest of
his days. He imparted the truth about Shep to Ace before he died.
